Hello!
My name is Christopher Sintic, the founder of The Seven Sanctuaries and your guide as we explore each one together.
My Journey
I haven’t always been on the path towards higher development and self mastery. In fact, not too long ago, I was juggling 80+ hour workweeks in corporate marketing in New York City designing advertisements for brands that promote overconsumption, ecological disruption, and altogether negative impacts on the world at large. Burnt out, depressed, and deeply unfulfilled, I found my only refuge came to me when I stepped onto my yoga mat. In the quiet space that expanded during my practice and meditation, a calling emerged: to help others find the solace and self-discovery I was experiencing. I listened to my heart, I quit my job, traveled to Italy for a seven-week yoga certification, and never looked back.
From there, my curiosity propelled me deeper into movement science, anatomy, and the nuanced connection between mind and body. I pursued certifications in NASM personal training, Myofascial Stretch Therapy (FST), and continue to expand my knowledge of the subtle bodies with ongoing studies of Reiki healing. In the midst of this I’ve also spent time learning family constellation therapy, myofascial release practices, and mobility focused training protocols. Each of these experiences revealed the many layers—emotional, physical, and spiritual—that must be acknowledged in order to heal the root issues of chronic pain, emotional stagnancy, and resulting “burnout” that comes from the expectations of modern day living. In a way, I have tapped into the ancient practices of the east and find my purpose lies in studying the literature of the west to reinforce what has already been known as a truly holistic approach to wellness.
Core Values & Philosophy
-
My work is guided by the belief that our bodies hold innate wisdom and the capacity to heal as a birthright. Think of the last time you cut yourself. Did you have to think about the healing process? Perhaps a bit of sterilization and a bandaid, some maintenance as the days passed, but beyond that the body took care of the rest.
Any injury, physical, emotional, mental or otherwise remains the same, that is, if we can resist the urge to pick at the scab and get out of our own way.
-
“Holistic,” for me, means honoring mind, body, and spirit as an interconnected system. A shoulder injury isn’t merely an issue of bone and muscle; it’s influenced by nutrition, emotional patterns, energetic blockages, and even the ebb and flow of our day-to-day stress. In my practice, there is no one “right” way to heal—only a present, mindful approach that evolves with each session. In other words, you have all the tools needed to live your most vibrant, vital life lying dormant inside of you. I am simply here to wake them up and get them running so that you can conquer whatever life throws at you.
-
Breath work is at the heart of this philosophy. It’s our most reliable anchor to the present moment—a gateway to deeper strength, clarity, and intention. By syncing breath with movement, we enter a state of flow that not only nurtures the body but also calms the mind. I use continual cues to remind clients to inhale and exhale at optimal times, demonstrating how breath can soften or tense muscles, and how understanding diaphragm mechanics, for example, empowers the body AND mind to tap into the most efficient healing potentials.
-
Moving from the breath, we build into a concept of “strength with precision.” It’s about building a firm foundation—whether in a yoga posture or a resistance-training exercise—so that every movement is intentional and secure. We break down the mechanics of each exercise, exploring the subtleties of alignment, leverage, and muscular engagement. From there, we repeat and reinforce until it all becomes second nature. This is the training. A time where clients learn how to stabilize themselves from the ground up. Here we begin to cultivate not only physical power but also a deeply rooted sense of confidence and peace.
I’ve witnessed incredible breakthroughs when clients suddenly “get it” and adjust their form instinctively, anticipating a cue before I say it. Those moments represent true integration—where mind, body, and breath align. It’s a tangible shift from confusion or discomfort into ease and mastery. This is the precursor to lifelong change.
-
As I mentioned, my ongoing studies blend modern science—think fascial research, anatomy, biomechanics—with the timeless wisdom of ancient Eastern traditions. For instance, the yogic concept of uddiyana bandha aligns beautifully with the scientific understanding of core stabilization. Eastern philosophies also remind us to slow down, honor energetic subtleties, and trust in the body’s innate capacity to heal—while Western research provides clarity and evidence-based techniques to solifdify these known truths in a manner in which our mind can understand. Together, they form a comprehensive framework that acknowledges both the tangible and intangible aspects of well-being.
-
My role is a guide, not a savior. True healing happens when clients cultivate self-reliance—when they feel empowered to make decisions, set boundaries, and trust their own bodies. I’ll provide suggestions, share my perspective, and recommend training goals, but ultimately, you choose how far to push. This fosters a sense of agency that spills into everyday life, reinforcing the idea that you are the expert of your own experience. A master of your own sails. I’m simply here to teach you how to read the map and find your North Star.
What to Expect
Each session begins with a simple question: “How’s the body today?” That check-in grounds us both. From there, we move slowly and methodically, allowing your true needs to surface. Over time, we build to more challenging exercises as the body—and mind—become ready. This ebb and flow between hard work and intentional rest offers a rhythm for sustainable growth. It can feel frustrating at times, but it’s in those moments that the most profound changes often occur.
I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment. If you’re skeptical or brand new, I understand. I encourage open dialogue, share scientific insights when relevant, and continually ask questions—listening to how you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. The worst-case scenario? You spend an hour exploring new possibilities. The best-case scenario? You change your life for the better, forever.
An Open Invitation
I invite you into this practice as if you were stepping into my home—there’s always a space set at the table, ready whenever you are. My hope is that you’ll discover your own power and inner wisdom, and when it’s time to move on, you’ll leave feeling not only stronger and more flexible, but also deeply attuned to the rhythm of your life.
If you’re curious about how we might work together, I encourage you to reach out. Let’s explore breath, movement, and mindful attention as a gateway to transformation—one that unfolds at your unique pace and ultimately leads you back to the profound healing potential already within you.
